Bed Wetting Alarms Available in Canada

Comparing bed wetting alarms:

The bed wetting alarms below are the popular and easily available in Canada. If your child is a deep sleeper, or wets in the daytime, or can’t wake to an alarm clock at 11pm, then a buzzer may not work for you because it won’t wake the child. I may be biased, (my clients give me an embarrassing assessment of value) but you might want to compare the value of a buzzer, compared to the value of a buzzer with personal behavioural coaching.

Factors to consider:

  • Bed wetting alarms are not a good idea nor necessary for under age 6. See our Youtube Videos for Age 3-6 suggestions.
  • Wireless, multiple sounds, and vibration are unnecessary. The alarm is Pavlovian, and to some extent ‘aversion therapy’, so a loud consistent tone is most effective. Wireless is silly, because a bit of discomfort will help to change sleep patterns.
  • Three sensor moisture pickup types:  clip-on for boys, flat sensor best for girls , and the third type is a sensor pad that takes longer to sound and requires the child to stay in one place (Therapee). Our DryKids alarm is designed to work for both boys and girls.

The DryKids ebook “4 Steps in 4 Weeks”  is different from most ‘bed wetting’ books, because it leads you to determine the causes of your child’s problem, and teaches remedies to fix them. You can start with this and upgrade to our alarm package later. More about DryKids

After instituting a program, parents decide whether to go it alone or to have him follow up over several months. When your kid wakes up with wet sheets, it can leave him feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable, and leave you sleepless, stressed and buried in laundry. Many parents try restricting wter or waking their kids during the night, but the problem only persists …. We called in the experts to teach us their simple but not-so-obvious strategies to eliminate bedwetting. Dr. Lane Robson and DryKids’ Peter Grise…….
